Today, you continued working on your "The Life You Save May Be Your Own" PowerPoint project. Think about the creation process. Which part of creating your presentation has required the most thought or creativity? What choices have you made with your information, images, or slide design to help communicate your understanding of the story? Explain.

Response: The part of creating my presentation that required the most creativity was adding the pictures to all my slides. This is because it was kind of difficult to find images that I thought accurately represented what I put on my slides. Choices that I have made to communicate my understanding of the story are to chose ominous-looking images. This helps convey the suspicion surrounding Mr. Shiftlet's character. I also analyzed the story rather than just summarizing to demonstrate my understanding.

Summary: We continued working on our character powerpoint project from "The Life you save may be your own."

Reflection: I thought that this project was fun and different from traditional assignments. I also think that because I did this project I understand the story a lot better.

Response: I would really like to go to Europe with my friends. I'm not sure if I would like backpacking but I definitely want to go for around a month and visit all the countries. Another option that I would love would be to study abroad in Europe for a semester. I just think that it's so beautiful there and it would be really cool to be immersed in another culture for a while. Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

 Prompt Response: One thing that makes me different from other people is that I really like math. I've never been good at any other subject in particular except for math. Most people find it boring or confusing, however I really enjoy it. I think I like it so much because there is always a definite answer. Meaning that your answer can only ever be wrong or right. Whereas in literature, answers to questions are often left up to interpretation which I find difficult. Summary: Today we began learning about Emily Dickinson and her poems. We also discussed how to read and analyze a poem, as well as how poetry differs from other writing styles. Reflection: I thought that this lesson was interesting, however I don't really like poetry.

Write about a fear you have overcome

  Response: A fear I have overcome is my fear of talking to people I don't know. When I was younger I was really shy and didn't like meeting new people. After I started going to therapy I began working on being able to tolerate and even initiate situations that may be uncomfortable. It's been a few years since I set this goal for myself and I am now much more outgoing. I still would not consider myself an extrovert, but I don't feel uncomfortable introducing myself to someone new or talking to a worker at a store.
