In “A Worn Path,” Phoenix has a memorable encounter and conversation with the hunter during her journey. Think about a conversation you have had that had a lasting impact on you. What was the conversation about, and how did it change your thinking, perspective, or actions?
Response: A conversation that I have had that left a lasting impact was a conversation with my therapist about my ADHD. Although I had already been diagnosed, I was expressing some concerns I had about difficulties in school, and my therapist was explaining how these things were not my fault. This changed my thinking because I typically get very frustrated when I'm not able to do things similar to my peers, but this new perspective made me feel better because it's something out of my control. I still struggle a lot with the symptoms of my ADHD, but they're much easier to regulate. I'm also a lot less hard on myself.
Summary: We read the short story "A Worn Path," which is about an old woman named Phoenix and her journey.
Reflection: I thought that the story was interesting and I feel inspired to be more resilient like Phoenix was in the story.
