Today, you had the opportunity to express yourself through poetry. Reflect on your creative writing process. What did you find most enjoyable or challenging about turning your thoughts into a poem? Did this assignment change the way you think about poetry or creative writing? Explain your experience.

 Response: I have never been very good at creative writing so I found this assignment difficult. I'm used to writing very literally so it was hard for me to use figurative language. I also found the time limit to be my biggest issue because it was taking me a while to come up with ideas. I did however think it was fun because I don't write stuff like that very often. It changed my perspective on poetry because it made me realize how much thought goes into writing each line and how small changes can alter the text entirely.

Summary: Today we wrote our own poem using given topics. We used guidelines to construct the poem and give it a deeper theme.

Reflection: I was overall very proud of my poem because I typically find writing poetry very difficult.
