Today, your group had to work together to earn 100% on the “A Worn Path” assessment or write an essay. How did this challenge affect the way your group discussed the story and made decisions? What did you learn from the experience?

 Response: This challenge affected the way that my group discussed and made decisions because we learned the process of elimination which makes completing multiple choice problems much simpler. Using this process, we were typically able to completely cross off 2/4 answer choices as being completely wrong. Then of the remaining two, it was up to us to decide which one was best. From this experience I learned a more efficient test taking strategy. 

Summary: Today we learned about the process of elimination. This is a strategy that you can use on multiple-choice style questions. We then used this strategy to complete our own assessment on the book "A Worn Path."

Reflection: I thought that this process of elimination was very efficient and helped a lot while my group was completing our test.

Response: I would really like to go to Europe with my friends. I'm not sure if I would like backpacking but I definitely want to go for around a month and visit all the countries. Another option that I would love would be to study abroad in Europe for a semester. I just think that it's so beautiful there and it would be really cool to be immersed in another culture for a while. If none of these things happen I would at least like to go to Paris and see the Eiffel Tower. Summary: In today's lesson people presented their Origin myth posters. Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

 Prompt Response: One thing that makes me different from other people is that I really like math. I've never been good at any other subject in particular except for math. Most people find it boring or confusing, however I really enjoy it. I think I like it so much because there is always a definite answer. Meaning that your answer can only ever be wrong or right. Whereas in literature, answers to questions are often left up to interpretation which I find difficult. Summary: Today we began learning about Emily Dickinson and her poems. We also discussed how to read and analyze a poem, as well as how poetry differs from other writing styles. Reflection: I thought that this lesson was interesting, however I don't really like poetry.

Write about a fear you have overcome

  Response: A fear I have overcome is my fear of talking to people I don't know. When I was younger I was really shy and didn't like meeting new people. After I started going to therapy I began working on being able to tolerate and even initiate situations that may be uncomfortable. It's been a few years since I set this goal for myself and I am now much more outgoing. I still would not consider myself an extrovert, but I don't feel uncomfortable introducing myself to someone new or talking to a worker at a store.
